Near Herne Bay - a sandy and shingle composition 0.3 miles away. A mostly shingle beach though you may find a little sand to build a sandcastle. Facilities along the back of the beach are good with several eateries, toilets, amusements, pier and parking at right angles to the beach on the road at the head of the beach
Studd Hill Beach
Near Herne Bay - a sandy and shingle composition 0.9 miles away. Located close to the town centre just to the east of the breakwater wall and with a car park close by
Tankerton Beach
Near Whistable - a sandy and shingle composition 3.8 miles away. Located to the east of Whistable harbour. At the head of the bech is a path running the length with a grassy bank, ideal for picnics. The beach itself is shingle with regular groynes. Unusually, at low tide a shingle spit appears known locally as 'the Spit' and you can walk out to sea (watch out for the tide though)
Reculver Beach
Near Herne Bay - a shingle composition 3.9 miles away. A shingle beach, generally quiet A beach with Rock defenses as the top then a shingle beach. There are several places to eat cafe, pubs takeaways etc with parking and toilet's. Look out for the twin towers of a ruined church high up on the hill nearby which also give good views .
Hampton Pier East Beach
Near Whistable - a sandy shingle and muddy composition 3.9 miles away. A shingle headed beach with sand and some mud as the tide goes out. The Spa Esplanade runs along the head of the beach with an easy walk to Herne Bay to the east.
