The Mackerel is a cosy cottage in a quiet area of Charlestown just a short walk from the harbour, a mile from St Austell. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms which are a double and a twin room. There is also a bathroom, a sitting room with a gas fire and a kitchen with a dining area. Outside is roadside parking and a split-level garden with a courtyard and furniture. The Mackerel is in a fantastic location, within easy travelling distance of many attractions including the Eden Project.

- This cycle and walking trail runs to and from Padstow and Bodmin via Wadebridge and the nearest part of the trail is approximately 9.4 miles from this property. the trail is just over 17 Miles long from sea level at Padstow initially following the Camel Estury rising to 59 metres (194 feet) by the time it reaches Bodmin. The trail is well maintained suitable for disabled persons which for the majority follows the route of two disused railway track so the gradient is not noticable. There are cycle hire shops at all 3 main locations with a range and design to suit everyone.
