Malvern is situated in the county of Worcestershire in the midlands The spa town is located at the foot of the hills which rise sharply to give fine views across the midlands , over Herefordshire and into Wales. The high point is the Worcester Beacon at 425 meters though throughout the line if hills several other highpoints exist along the whole chain. The town grew in popularity as a spa town in the 17th to 19th centuries with the health giving properties of the water promoted to cure all number of ailments. To this day there are numerous springs and small fountains providing water though the most prominent is St Ann's Well and Holy Well which can be easily reached at the base of the hills just outside Malvern town
